EZ LYNK or Remote Laptop Tuning for a Cummins HD Truck?

HDTruckTunes accepts Cummins heavy-duty tuning requests through EZ LYNK or a remote laptop session. The right route depends on your installed engine, ECM and connection setup, along with what equipment you already own. A familiar method name is not enough to establish support.

Start with compatibility, then compare the equipment

Our confirmed coverage includes CM870, CM871, CM875, CM2150, CM2250, CM2350 and CM2450 ECM families in Cummins heavy-duty applications. We review the actual engine, ECM, calibration and method for your truck. The list does not guarantee both methods for every configuration.

What an EZ LYNK request needs

The EZ LYNK route requires a reviewed Auto Agent setup and a suitable truck connection. Tell us the exact device generation and cable you own. If you already have an AA3, select the existing-device option so another device is not added.

The form offers 4-Week and Unlimited LYNK options with EZ LYNK tuning. The quote identifies the option and its charge. Existing AA3 ownership removes the need for a duplicate device; tuning and the applicable LYNK fee remain.

If new hardware is needed, review Auto Agent 3 and the AA3-only HD 9-pin adapter. Hardware purchases do not automatically include custom tuning.

What a remote laptop request needs

The remote route uses a laptop, TeamViewer and a compatible J1939 device. Include the device make/model and cable, laptop details, and your time zone or scheduling constraints.

A general scanner or J1939 label does not establish a suitable programming connection. Have the exact equipment reviewed before choosing the method or buying something for the session. The session arrangements and availability are confirmed after review.

Compare the practical questions

• What engine and ECM are actually installed? Review this before either method is selected. A VIN lookup may describe the factory setup rather than the current engine.
• What equipment do you already own? List the AA3 generation and cable, or the laptop and J1939 device. An AA3 should not be assumed to replace every laptop setup, or vice versa.
• Can the connection be confirmed? Identify the truck connector and the exact cable/device rather than relying on a generic product description.
• Does a session need arranging? Include your time zone and availability for a remote request. A saved request is not a guaranteed booking.
• Do you need hardware delivered? Request only the hardware you need. Digital tuning alone does not require hardware shipping.

What the request and quote mean

Submitting the homepage form saves the request for compatibility review. It is not payment or automatic approval of the chosen method. HDTruckTunes confirms the proposed work, quote and payment steps after review.

Hardware shipping is confirmed for the US and Canada, with the cost itemized in the quote. UK hardware delivery needs separate confirmation. Service inquiries are accepted from the US, Canada and UK.

Method questions

Is one method guaranteed to work with my listed ECM?

No method is approved solely by the ECM list. The installed engine, calibration, truck setup and equipment are reviewed together.

Should I buy hardware before submitting?

Submit the equipment details you have and ask for review first. This helps avoid requesting a duplicate AA3 or a cable intended for the wrong device generation.

What if I do not have a preference?

Explain your truck and existing equipment, and state that you want the method reviewed. Include any constraints, such as no laptop available or uncertainty about the diagnostic connection.
