Cummins HD Compatibility and Support
HDTruckTunes reviews custom tuning requests for Cummins heavy-duty engines. Use this page to check our confirmed scope and understand which details establish support for your actual truck. Pickups and light-duty trucks are excluded.
Confirmed Cummins ECM families
- CM870
- CM871
- CM875
- CM2150
- CM2250
- CM2350
- CM2450
These families describe our Cummins HD coverage. They are not a year-range chart or a guarantee that every calibration in each family works through both tuning methods. We confirm the installed engine, ECM, current setup and proposed method before payment.
Cummins-equipped heavy-duty truck makes
Our scope includes Cummins-equipped heavy-duty Kenworth, International, Peterbilt, Volvo, Western Star and Hino trucks, plus other makes with an installed Cummins HD engine. The installed engine and ECM determine the review; the truck manufacturer's name alone does not establish tuning support.
If the engine has been changed or the truck's current configuration differs from its original factory setup, include those details. A VIN result may describe the truck as built and should not replace the current engine and ECM identification.
Details that help us confirm support
- VIN and truck: supply the VIN and known make/model details.
- Installed engine: identify the Cummins engine and engine serial number when available.
- ECM and calibration: include the family, identification report or current calibration details you already have.
- Current setup: describe modifications, existing tuning, concerns and how the truck is used.
- Connection method: identify the exact Auto Agent generation and cable, or laptop, TeamViewer and J1939 device.
- Goals: explain the result you are seeking without assuming a specific outcome before review.
You can submit a request when some details are unknown. Mark those items as unknown rather than guessing. Our preparation checklist explains how to organize the information.
Choose a method after reviewing the setup
EZ LYNK tuning uses a reviewed Auto Agent and vehicle connection. Remote laptop tuning uses TeamViewer and a compatible J1939 setup. Method coverage is confirmed for your truck, rather than inferred from the ECM list.
If you need hardware, review Auto Agent 3 and the AA3-only HD 9-pin adapter. Already owning an AA3 avoids a duplicate device charge; it does not remove tuning or applicable LYNK charges.
Service and hardware destinations
Service inquiries are accepted from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Hardware shipping is confirmed for the US and Canada. UK hardware delivery needs separate confirmation.
Compatibility questions
My make and ECM are listed. Is my truck approved?
They place the request within our stated scope, but the installed engine, ECM, calibration, modifications and method must still be reviewed. Submit those details before payment.
Can you help if I do not know the engine or ECM?
Start with the identification information you have and explain what is unknown. Do not select a family only because another truck of the same model uses it.
Where do tuning or hardware questions go?
Use our business contact page for questions and the request form for a tuning or hardware review. Include the existing request reference if you are following up on a saved request. Avoid sending login credentials in request notes.
